We’re a profit-for-purpose company, on a mission of wellbeing, inclusion, diversity and equality to help as many people as possible feel more valuable at work and in life.
We see too often how companies fail to develop Inclusive Leaders, and how that negatively impacts employees’ health, relationships with each other and performance at work.
We know that companies that focus on infusing diversity into their fabric experience more growth. Diversity isn’t enough without an understanding of equality and a commitment to treating everyone fairly. And all of that only truly works when everybody is seen and heard, when we’re all included. When all of this is happening in an environment of holistic wellbeing, which considers mental, physical, financial, social wellbeing, everybody is in their healthiest state and can thrive.
This can’t be a checklist exercise or superficial actions, this requires investing in everybody’s growth and development to become better at using wellbeing, inclusion, diversity and equality. We need trained, competent and passionate Inclusive Champions to get the work done. For themselves, their colleagues, their company and their customers.
We also need to help the younger generations of diverse youth who still struggle with feeling excluded from the world. Our mission is to use part of our profit, with the generous support of our partner champions, to empower, educate, support and advocate for the inclusion of diverse youth and their allies in all aspects of life. If we do our job well, we’ll build future generations of Inclusive Champions who promote everybody’s value effortlessly.
We have lots of ideas, plans and programs to develop, however our mission is bigger than us, and we need your help. If our mission resonates with you, please contact us. We'd love to discover ways we can partner and harness the power of wellbeing, inclusion, diversity and equality for everybody.
Dr. John McGill is the Founder, Managing Director and Chief Educator of ChampionsWIDE. As the former Executive Director of Practitioner Education for the College of Law Australia, he has spent his life using his personal and career experiences to help people develop the tools to grow and access their potential. As a member of a cultural diverse group, historically disenfranchised, he has the lived experience to know all too well the challenges that result from barriers to inclusion, diversity and equality. He also knows the triumphs that occur when those barriers are removed and access is granted to previously inaccessible spaces. While his focus is on equipping champions of wellbeing, inclusion, diversity and equality with the tools to become Inclusive Leaders, he also is committed to empowering young people from diverse backgrounds to become advocates for their inclusion everywhere. His mission now is to put his money where his heart is, and funnel a portion of profits from his commercial ventures into his charitable vision.
To achieve commercial success, he knows he must combine his deep multi-disciplinary experiences (law, academia, business management, executive coaching. Teaching and learning, international management and organisational development) with evidence-based insights and practical exercises to power a new paradigm of leadership that harnesses inclusion and diversity for strategic actions and results.
To support his charitable vision, he is drawing on his past experiences helping young people to achieve transformational growth through empowerment programs, legal education and learning strategies, with a particular focus to help those on the periphery and those who were most vulnerable: high school students with disabilities, law students with disabilities, college students from at-risk backgrounds and sexual minority youth. He will infuse his past experiences with the knowledge, skills and networks that he’s developed since those programs ran, to expand the reach and depth of the programs. He knows what it looks and feels like to watch a young person have a “lightbulb moment” regarding their own value and sense of self. He is driven to help as many young people from diverse backgrounds to shine and advocate against anyone who threatens to dim their light.
He received his education at Sydney University, Sydney Business School with a Master’s and Doctorate Degree in Human Resource Management and Coaching Psychology. He also holds a Juris Doctor from New York Law School and University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and a Bachelor Degrees from Rutgers College, Rutgers University. He completed an additional certificate in brain-based coaching from the Neuroleadership Institute. He is currently working on becoming a Nationally Accredited Mediator and a Collaborative Practice Professional.
He has a passionate (and intensely competitive) love of tennis. He also loves travel and exploring new countries. He considers himself a wannabe polyglot because of his love of learning languages and has taken classes or studied 11 foreign languages (Latin, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese, ASL, Dutch, French, Mandarin Chinese & Portuguese). Spanish and Dutch are his two favorite, and although he isn’t fluent in any language beyond English, he loves the worlds the exposure to the languages has opened up. Besides his close and deep love of his family and friends, he is a committed Doggy Daddy to two adorable chihuahuas, Nettie and Celie.
We acknowledge all the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we work, live and enjoy throughout the world.
We pay respect to Ancestors and Elders past, present and emerging.
